PRIMAFIT Supervised Fitness
PRIMA HEART's supervised fitness program offers expertise and supervision by cardiologist, RNs and exercise specialists in a comprehensive individualized exercise program for individuals with various levels of fitness and health needs. An optimal program will be designed for an individual to include aerobic exercise, core strength development, weight and resistance training, and flexibility with personal preference for long-term success.
Supervised Exercise/Clinical Staff:
- Cardiologist
- RN Coordinator/Supervisor
- Exercise Physiologist
- Medical Exercise Specialists
Program includes:
- Comprehensive assessment by RN
- EKG (electrocardiogram)
- Exercise prescription
- MD Review as needed
- Orientation to equipment
- Monitoring of vital statistics
- Physician Oversight
- Education in disease management & prevention
Physician Services: Optional, as requested or needed
- Diagnostic testing and evaluation...(see our services brochure)
- Medical clearance can be provided as needed
Dietitian and Nutritional Consultation Services : Optional, available as requested
The PRIMAFIT Program Requires Two Components:
1) Enrollment in the Monterey Sports Center PRIMAFIT Program
AND
2) Registration for the PRIMAFIT Supervised Medical Exercise component with PRIMA HEART Preventative Cardiovascular Center & Institute
The medically supervised portion of the program will take place on:
Mondays & Wednesdays: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Fridays & additional hours to be added per need and request
With this option, PRIMA HEART and the Monterey Sports Center can electronically debit your checking or credit card account monthly (fees will be charged separately.) These fees are paid in full in advance . Clearance is required from your Primary MD or our Cardiologist for PRIMAFIT participation.
PRIMA HEART one time evaluation fee of $100 includes an EKG with initial assessment.
